Spicy Vegan Bolognese

Discover our vegan bolognese. With it’s rich and bold flavour, it will definitely become a family favourite.

Ingredients

  • 1 Box Chef’s Kiss Chunky Arrabbiata Pasta Meal Kit
  • 1 carrot finely diced
  • 1 onion finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon chilli flakes
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 3 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 100g lentils rinsed and drained

Method

  1. Empty the pasta pouch into a pot of salted boiling water. Cook for 10 min or until the pasta is al dente. Once the pasta is done cooking, save a cup full of water from the pasta before you drain it.
  2. Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Add onion, garlic and carrot, then cook, stirring, for 8 minutes or until softened. 
  3. Add the arrabbiata sauce and lentils to the pan along with 1 cup water, stir well, then cook, and stirring regularly, for 15 minutes or until slightly thickened. 
  4. Add the chilli flakes and cook for additional 6 minutes ensuring the lentils are soft and tender. 
  5. Add the pasta into the pan and cook. Mix and combine all the ingredients well.
  6. Taste it now, season with salt and pepper according to your taste. Use the pasta water to adjust the consistency.
  7. Once done, transfer the pasta soup into a bowl and top with the grated parmesan cheese.
  8. Enjoy warm!
